The poetry demon is so cruelly beautiful
It's death in the form of a flower, singing about eternity
The poetry demon is so cruelly beautiful
It can only be a moment before it's gone, yet here it is. 

Hollow words like a thousand useless promises
Flashlights fade against the darkest storm of night.
Let me see her wild dance when the wind blows hard
Let it get in my eyes. Let the light blind me. 

The poetry demon is so cruelly beautiful
But she dances in chains, and I capture her with ink and paper.
