Hope is a great falsifier

The eye sees only what the mind is prepared to comprehend

And there lies your audacity, dear Life,
bestowing illusions as tangible truth
a great falsifier named Hope.

To set afoot on this circuitous path
where faith dangles by the slenderest string.
I grasp it - not for its steadfastness but fragility.
